COMING TO FAIRFIELD BAY!!! EARLY 2019 TO THE VILLAGE MALL
FOR MOTHER EARTH is a riot of color to the new eye. Brightly painted Bali mirrors and kaleidoscopic Peace flags peek out from amongst our colorful selection of HEMP, Bamboo, and Recycled Silk hats, bags, and clothing.
Colorful beads and jewelry made from semi-precious gemstone or glass will glimmer the eye, and the customer will feel the rich textures and soft colors of our eco-friendly fabrics.
These fabrics are a sensual experience, ranging from the rough sturdiness of pure HEMP fiber in hats and bags to the silky softness of Organic Cotton or Bamboo blended with HEMP fiber in clothing such as pants, shirts, and dresses.
Roten’s Furniture was founded in 1947 when Robert Earl Roten, an Air Force veteran in World War II who served in the European Theater, purchased a small furniture store and moved it to a building on East Main Street in Marshall. Known to all his friends as Earl, he and his wife Dean began operating their family business in the building still used today. Over the years the family grew and so did the business. Their only son, Bob, was born in 1959 and grew up in and around the store. He learned the furniture business from the ground up! Bob attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduated in 1981 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Rose in 1982 and returned to Marshall to help run the family business.
Over the next few years, Roten’s Furniture saw several major changes. Earl retired and handed the day to day operation over to Bob and Rose. New products and manufacturers were added to the store. The warehouse and showroom space were greatly enlarged, staff size was increased and the trade area expanded.
Earl Roten passed away in 1988. Bob’s mom, Dean, continued to enjoy coming to the store every day to “oversee” the operation on the business, greet, and visit with her many friends until her passing on April 4th, 2012. “Deano” enjoyed her time spent at the store in her favorite recliner and will be missed by family and friends. We will cherish our fond memories of “Big E” and “Deano” and will always love them.
