Ozark Health first opened its doors in 1950 as a modest 12-bed medical facility. At the time, it was known as Van Buren County Hospital. In 1963, Van Buren County Hospital received funding to add a 34-bed nursing home to the medical center. The nursing home began operating soon after, in 1965.

From 1974 to 1980, the hospital experienced a number of changes including a thorough remodeling and refurbishing. During this time the nursing home was also enlarged to accommodate an additional 70 beds.

In August of 1982, the Board of Directors incorporated as Ozark Health, Inc. and the facility was rededicated as Van Buren County Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home.

Between 1990 and 1999, the hospital and nursing home continued to grow. In 1994, 16 beds were added to the nursing home and 12 more were added in 1999.

In Summer 2004, Ozark Health moved into its new, state-of-the-art facility at 2500 Highway 65 South in Clinton, Arkansas. This new medical facility was a major advancement in medical treatment and health services for the people of Van Buren County and the surrounding areas.

Ozark Health paid off the new facility sooner than had been anticipated. In the summer of 2010, Van Buren County residents passed an extension of the 1 cent sales tax that allowed the new facility to be built allowing for an expansion of Ozark Health’s medical facility. Construction of the expansion began in October of 2011 and will include a larger parking lot, emergency room, new MRI and CT Scan, physical therapy, outpatient exam rooms, and a separate walk-in entrance for outpatient guests.
